PROBLEMS
(SYMPTOMS)
The engine "cranks" but will
not start.
The engine starts but shuts
down after a short period of
time.
The engine will not crank.
The battery keeps loosing
charge.
If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the test/repairs safely, contact the
Lincoln Electric Service Department for electrical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed. Call 1-888-935-3877.
POSSIBLE AREAS OF
MISADJUSTMENT(S)
ENGINE PROBLEMS
1. Check for adequate fuel
supply.
2. Make sure the ignition
switch is in the "Run" position.
1. Check for adequate fuel
supply.
2. Check engine oil level.
3. Air may be entrapped in fuel
system. Refer to Maintenance
section of the Operators
Manual for instructions to
bleed fuel system.
1. Check the start button and
associated circuitry.
2. The battery may be low or
dead.

RECOMMENDED
COURSE OF ACTION
1. Check the ignition switch for
proper operation. Check the
associated leads for loose or
faulty connections. See Wiring
Diagram.
2. Perform the Engine Fuel
System Voltage Test Procedure
(ECU Test).
3. The engine fuel injectors
may need service.
1. The oil pressure switch or
coolant temperature sensor
may be causing the engine
protection relay to shut off the
fuel injection pump. Make sure
oil pressure and coolant
temperature are correct before
replacing sensors.
2. The engine fuel injectors
may need service.
3. Perform the Engine Fuel
System Voltage Test Procedure
(ECU Test).
1. The engine may be faulty.

Alternator Test Procedure.
