Using Manual Focus
| Press the FOCUS /VOL, control buttons simul¬
taneously. "FOCUS" displays in the viewfinder
or on the LCD monitor.
You can adjust the
focus manually.
2 Use the power zoom T control, to zoom.up com¬
pletely to your subject, if you don't use the T
control to zoom to the picture you want, the pic¬
ture may fall out of focus when actual recording
starts.
CJ Press the FOCUS/VOL. control A (far) or T
(near) button until the subject is in focus.
£ Use the power zoom W control to zoom back to
the picture you desire.
Note; To return to auto focus press the FOCUS/
VOL. control buttons and the "FOCUS" disap¬
pears from the viewfinder or LCD monitor.

Using X500 Digital Zoom —
You can use the X500 digital zoom function to magnify the subject on tape up to approximately 23 times
the X.22 optical zoom. This function also enables you to further magnify a distant subject.
■ J Press the small button on the CAM/OFF/
VIDEO switch as you slide it to CAM.
2 Press the MENU button:
The menu display will
appear.
U Press the STOP or PLAY

4 Press the FF or REW but¬
ton to display "X500".
g Press the MENU button: The menu display will
disappear from the LCD monitor or viewfinder.
Note: This digital zoom has certain limitations; it
may degrade if used for extreme magnifica¬
tion, and thereby amplify camcorder move¬
ment.
