8.2.4 Carriage Motor Drive Block
The Carriage motor is driven by the four signals from CRA, CRB, CRNA and CRNB, and is driven by 1-2 phase
driving system.
QA201 (SLA7024M) is a current chopper type Hybrid IC and is used as a carriage motor driver.
Four phase
signals (A,A,B,B,) are generated by IC6 and sent to QA201.
QA201 then provides the phase signals to drive
the carriage motor.
The chopper frequency of QA201
is determined by C200, C201, R205 and R206.
The motor coil current is
varied depending on the print mode.
QA201 controls the current level by comparing predetermined voltage
levels at pins@)and (4. These voltage levels are changed according to the print mode.
This is accomplished
by a H or L signal from CRCNT1
and CRNTO and a resistor network.
This network consist of R207, R208 for
slow carrier movement, R207, R208, R204 for Draft printing and R207, R208, R203 for LQ printing. The motor
current level is controlled by QA201 comparing the reference voltage with voltage level at R209 and R212.
