SATA Controller Mode
Select Compatible to allow the SATA and PATA drives to be automatically-detected
and be placed in the Legacy Mode by the BIOS. Select Enhanced to allow the
SATA and PATA drives to be to be automatically-detected and be placed in the
Native Mode. (*Note: The Enhanced mode is supported by the Windows 2000
OS or a later version.)
SATA Port1/SATA Port2/SATA Port3/SATA Port4/SATA Port5 and
SATA Port6
(*Note: SATA Port3 and SATA Port4 are optional for OEM
only.)
These settings allow the user to set the parameters of SATA Port1 to SATA6
slots. Hit <Enter> to activate the following sub-menu screen for detailed options
of these items. Set the correct confi gurations accordingly. The items included in
the sub-menu are:
Type
Selects the type of SATA drive. The options are Auto, (which allows the BIOS
to automatically determine the SATA drive's capacity, number of heads, etc.), a
number from 1-39 to select a predetermined type of SATA drive, CDROM and
ATAPI Removable. The option "User" will allow the user to enter the parameters
of the SATA drive installed at this connection. The option "Auto" will allow the
BIOS to automatically confi gure the parameters of the SATA drive installed at
the connection. Choose the option 1-39 to select a predetermined SATA drive
type. Select CDROM if a CDROM drive is installed. Select ATAPI if a removable
disk drive is installed.
Multi-Sector Transfers
This item allows the user to specify the number of sectors per block to be
used in multi-sector transfer. The options are Disabled, 4 Sectors, 8 Sectors,
and 16 Sectors.
32-Bit I/O
Select Enable to enable the function of 32-bit IDE data transfer. The options
are Enabled and Disabled.
LBA Mode Control
This item determines whether the Phoenix BIOS will access the IDE Channel 0
Master Device via the LBA mode. The options are Enabled and Disabled.
Transfer Mode
This option allows the user to set the transfer mode. The options are Standard,
Fast PIO1, Fast PIO2, Fast PIO3, Fast PIO4, FPIO3/DMA1 and FPIO4/DMA2.
