The speed is kept constant by modifying engine
power or through an active brake intervention.
A
WARNING
- Always pay attention to the traffic around
you when the cruise control is in operat ion.
You are always responsib le for your speed
and the distance between your vehicle and
other vehicles .
- For reasons of safety, cru ise control should
not be used in the city, in stop-and-go traf-
fic, on winding roads and when road condi-
tions are poor (such as ice, fog, grave l,
heavy ra in and hydroplan ing) -yo u could
have an acc iden t .
- Switch the cruise cont rol off temporar ily
when d riving in t urn ing lanes, highway exits
or in construction zones .
- Please note t ha t unconsciously "resting"
your foot on the accelerator pedal prevents
the cruise control from braking. This is due
to the control system being overridden by
the d river's acceleration.
- If a brake sys t em ma lfunction such as over -
heating occurs when the cruise control sys-
tem is sw itched on, the braking function in
the system may be sw itched off. The rest of
the cruise control system functions remain
active as long as the

The brake lights illum inate as soon as the
brakes apply automatically.
Changing speed
Applies to: vehicles with cruise control system

· Overriding the speed
Applies to: vehicles with cruise control system
You can press the a cce lera t or pedal down to in-
crease yo ur speed, for exa mple if you want to
pass someone . The speed you saved ear lier w ill
resume as soo n as you let off of t he acce le rat or
pedal.
However, if you are exceedi ng t he st o red speed
by a considerable amoun t fo r a long t ime, t he
cruise contro l system will temporarily switch off.
The

Preselecting the speed
Applies to: vehicles with cruise control system
You can pre -select your desired speed while the
vehicle is not moving.

Switching off

Temporary deactivation

Switching off completely

The speed you saved will be retained if the cruise
contro l has been switched off temporarily . To re-
s ume the stored speed, release the brake or
clutch pedal and pull the lever t o position
