Note
- Snow chains can damage the rims/whee l
covers* if the chains come into direct con-
tact with them. Remove the whee l covers*
first. Use coated snow chains.
- Using snow chains that add more than 0.4
inch (10.5 mm) of height can severely dam-
age the wheel housings and other vehicle
components .
- Do not install and use snow chains if t here is
a malfunct ion in the adaptive air suspen-
sion*, because the vehicle height wi ll be
very low . If yo u drive with snow chains any-
way, t he wheel housings and othe r vehicle

Low aspect ratio tires
Your Audi is f actory-equipped wi t h low aspect ra-
t io tires. These tir es have been thor oughly te sted
and been selected specific all y fo r your model fo r
their superb perfo rmance, road feel and hand li ng
under a variety of dr iving conditions. Ask your au-
thor ized Audi dealer for mo re details .
The low aspect ratio of t hese ti res is indi cated by
a nume ral of 55 or less in t he tire's size desig na-
tion. The nume ral represents the rat io of t he
tire's sidewall height in relat ion to its tread wi dth
expressed in percentage. Conventional tires have
a heig ht/w idt h rat io of 60 or mo re.
The performance of low-aspect-ratio tires is par-
ticularly sensitive to improper inflation pres-
sure. It is therefore important that low aspect
ratio tires are inflated to the specified pressure
and that the inflation pressure is regularly
checked and maintained. Tire pressures should
be checked at least once a month and always
before a long trip ~

What you can do to avoid tire and rim
damage
Low aspect ratio tires can be damaged more easi-
ly by impact with potho les, curbs, gullies or
ridges on the road, particularly if the tire is un-
der inflated.
In orde r to mi nimize the occurrence of impact
damage to the tires of your vehicle, we recom-
mend that you observe the following precau-
tions:
- Always maintain recommended inflation pres-
sures. Check your tire pressure every 2,000
m iles (3,000 km) and add air if necessary.
- Drive carefully on roads w it h potholes, deep
gullies or ridges. The impact from dr iving
throug h or over such obstacles can damage
your t ires. Impac t with a curb may also cause
damage to your tir es.
- After any impact, immed iate ly inspect you r
tires or have t hem inspected by the nearest au-
t horize d Audi dealer . Replace a damage d tire as
soon as possible .
- Inspec t your t ires every 2,000 m iles (3,000 km)
for damage and wear . Damage is not always
easy t o see. Damage can lead t o loss of air and
underinfla tion, w hich could eventu ally cause
t ire f ail ure. If you beli eve t hat a t ire may have
been dam aged, repl ace the t ire as soon as pos-
sible .
- These tire s may wear mo re quick ly t han ot hers.
- Please also remember t hat , while t hese tires
delive r responsive handli ng, t hey may ride less
comforta bly and make mo re noise than ot her
choices.
Reduced performance in winter/cold
season
conditions
All t ires are designed f or certain purposes . The
low aspect ratio, ultra high performance tires
origina lly installed on your veh icle are inten ded
fo r maximum dry and wet road perf ormance and
handling . They are not suitable fo r cold, snowy or
icy weather conditions . If you drive under those
circumst ances, you should equip your vehicle
wi t h all-season or winter tires, which offer bett er
t ract ion under t hose condi t ions. We suggest you ..,.
