Introduction
Drive select makes it possible to experience dif-
ferent types of vehicle settings in one vehicle.
The dr iver can select Comfort , Auto and Dynamic
modes in the Infota inment system to switch be-
tween , fo r example, a sporty and a comfo rt able
driving mode .
Sett ings can be adju sted to your personal prefe r-
ences in Ind ividual mode. This makes it possible
t o combine settings such as a sporty engine set -
ting w ith light steering .
Description
The follow ing systems, among other things, are
infl uenced by drive select :
Engine and automatic transmission
Depending on t he mode, the engine and auto -
mat ic t ransmission respond more quickly or in a
more balanced manner to accelerator pedal
Assist
movements . In the sporty dynamic mode, the
transmission shifts at higher speed ranges.
Adapt ive air suspension *
The adapt ive air suspension* is an electron ically-
contro ll ed air suspension and dampi ng syst em.
The adj ustmen t depends on the dr iving mode se-
lected, steering movements, the driver's braking
and acceleration, and as the road surface, vehicle
speed and load.
The vehicle groun d clearan ce depends on t he
mode selected and the speed. When you are in
the auto , the highway setting is activated when
yo u drive above 75 mph (120 km/h) for more
than 30 seconds. The ground clearance is in-
creased automatically if the speed drops below
44 mp h (70 km/h) for more than 120 seconds.
Suspension control*
With the Audi Dynamic Ride Contro l damping
contro l, dampening characteristics of the vehicle
can be individually adjusted using drive select.
This makes it possible to satisfy the desire for
sporty suspension
(DYNAMIC)
and comfortable
suspension (COMFOR T) without giving up bal-
anced tu ning (AUTO).
Steering
The power steering adapts. Indirect steering that
moves easily as in comfort mode is especially
suited to long drives on a highway . The Dynamic
mode provides sporty, direct steering .
Applies to: vehicles with dynamic steering
The steering ratio changes based on veh icle
speed in order to maintain opt imum steer ing ef-
fort fo r t he driver at all times . This sets the st eer-
ing to be less sensitive at higher speeds in orde r
to provide improved vehicle contr ol. At reduced
speeds, steering is more direct in orde r to keep
t he st eering effort as minimal as possible when
t he driver is maneuvering the vehicle. At low and
average speeds, dynamic steering * additionally
provides more responsive steering performance.
