Audio Monitoring
You can monitor audio using one of the following four
methods.
@ When using headphones
When
using headphones, you can
adjust the volume using this control.
To reduce the audio level, move the
control to the left, and vice versa.

Output (NORM/HD) Jacks (CH1/CH2)
When monitoring audio using the Audio Output Jacks on
the back of the unit, you can output the following audio
signals using the Audio Output Selector.

When HD Sound is not recorded on the tape, only
Normal Audio will be output from the output terminals,
even if the selector is set to the "HD" side. Also, at this
time, the HD lamp will be out.
@ When HD Sound is recorded on the tape, the HD lamp
will light even if the selector is set to the "NORM" side.
@ When a tape recorded with HD Sound is played back
and the tracking control is not set for optimum tracking,
normal audio will be output even if the selector is set to
the "HD" side. In this case, the HD lamp will be out.

© When using HD Sound Output Jacks
When playing back an HD Sound recorded tape, HD
Sound will be obtained from these jacks.
But when only normal sound is recorded on the tape, no
HD Sound will be obtained from these jacks.
Video Level Adjustment
@ Set the Input Signal Selector according to
the equipment connected to the unit.
To ensure a coloured picture with minimal jitter when
dubbing, set the switch to the position which matches
the particular application.
