Repair and maintenance

The Rinnai ES fires are low maintenance and only require the glass to be cleaned, and dust
removed from the vents and burn media. In case of repairs, it is recommended that cleaning is
done at the same time.
Make sure to find out the electrical connection of the appliance before attending a repair
job. If the unit is hard wired, specialist trades may be required to disconnect the unit before

the unit can be serviced and repaired.
Electrical components should only be replaced by an authorised person (licensed and
registered electrician). The appliance should be isolated from the power supply and tested
to ensure safe isolation.
The following components can be replaced if there is a fault:
• Flame spindle
• Transformer
• Downlight LED board
• Fan heater unit
General clean
Remove dust from the air vent
Dust accumulates over time, impacting the
unit's efficiency. Remove by sweeping dust
from the air vent, using a soft brush, into the
vacuum.
To access the log set pieces and back glass panel for cleaning, the outer glass lower retaining
panel and the outer glass will need to be removed, refer next page.

Clean the outer glass
Wipe the outer glass with a soft damp cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaners and do not
spray liquids directly onto any surface of the
unit.
