Set the speed appropriately according to
the speed limit, traffic flow, road condi-
tions, weather conditions, etc. The driver
is responsible for confirming the set vehi-
cle speed.

Changing the vehicle-to-vehicle
distance
Press the vehicle-to-vehicle distance
switch.
Pressing the switch changes the setting as
follows.
Select a distance which is appropriate for
the surrounding conditions.

Approximate vehicle-to-vehicle dis-

tances
The actual distance of a selected vehi-
cle-to-vehicle distance will vary depending
on the vehicle speed.
When driving at 50 mph (80 km/h), the
approximate vehicle-to-vehicle distance for
each setting is as follows:
Long: Approx. 160 ft. (50 m)

Medium: Approx. 130 ft. (40 m)
●
●
Short: Approx. 100 ft. (30 m)
If the vehicle speed is lower, the vehi-
cle-to-vehicle distance will be shorter. If the
vehicle speed is higher, the vehicle-to-vehi-
cle distance will be longer.

When driving down a slope
The vehicle-to-vehicle distance may
become short.
