Using the Configuration/Setup Utility program for the xSeries Hosting
Appliance
This section provides the instructions needed to start the Configuration/Setup
Utility program.
Note: The Configuration/Setup Utility might vary slightly, depending upon if you
The Configuration/Setup utility is a menu-driven program that is part of the BIOS
code that comes with your xSeries Hosting Appliance. You can use this program
to:
v Configure serial connector assignments
v Change the drive startup sequence
v Resolve configuration conflicts
v Set the date and time
v Set passwords
Attention: Your appliance ships with preconfigured BIOS settings. Changing
these settings could result in difficulty managing your xSeries Hosting Appliance.
Do not change the settings unless instructed to do so by IBM support personnel.
The preconfigured basic input/output system (BIOS) settings are shown in Table 2.

1. Turn on the xSeries Hosting Appliance.
2. When the message Press F1 for Configuration/Setup appears, press F1.
3. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
