NOTE:
The only components contained in the keyboard assembly are
the touch control keys and the keypad. The keyboard processor and addi-
tional hardware are incorporated in the main logic board.
To access the keyboard mounting screws, remove the back cover, the
main logic board, the disk drives, the power control board, and the optional
battery pack, if so equipped. Refer to Figure 4-13 for the following proce-
dures.
1. Remove the 6 screws at A that secure the support panel to the
frame.
2. Carefully lift the panel while feeding the wires through the appro-
priate holes.
3. Turn the computer upright, release the keyboard latches and lay
the keyboard in the down position.
4. Remove the 6 screws at B that secure the 2 hinge retainers and
separate the keyboard from the computer.
