Setting the Manufacture's Code
Number
Some non-Sony TVs can be controlled with the Sony Remote Commander. Each
manufacturer uses a different control code, so If you set your Remote Commander
to a different code it may control the other TV. However, since all manufactures do
not use the same system, pay special attention to the notes below. The following 2
step procedure explains how to change the control code used by your Remote
Commander — refer to the code number list (page 22) for the appropriate code.
1 Set the TV/VTR switch to TV.
While pressing EXECUTE, press the manufacturer's code number and ENTER.
You can now use the POWER, VOL(volume) +/-, CH(channel) +/— and the TV/
VTR buttons on your Remote Commander to operate the TV.
Notes:
¢ The TV/VTR
button may not function, depending on the manufacturer. If this
problem occurs, use your TV's own remote control unit.
¢
{f more than one code number is listed, try entering them one at a time until you
find the one that works with your TV.
¢
If you enter a new code number, the code number previously entered will be
erased.
¢
If you release the EXECUTE button before pressing the ENTER button, the
setting will be cancelled.
¢ Some manufacturers may use a different remote control system from the one
programmed to work with your VCR. If this is the case and you are unable to
operate the TV with your Remote Commander, use the TV's own remote control
unit instead.
¢ When you replace the batteries in the Remote Commander the code number
automatically resets to 1 (Sony). Reset the appropriate code number if you are
operating a non-Sony TV.
