The optimum listening position is generally considered to
be at or just behind the apex of an equilateral triangle
when the two speakers are placed at the two ends of the
triangle's base. When room dimensions or structure do
not allow you to maintain the listening position noted
above, the LPS (listening point selector) function can be
used to create the optimum listening position for your
room.

@) For example, however, if you change your listening
position to just in front of the right speaker, the stereo
effect will be lost.
@) The LPS function is provided to remedy this kind of
situation. Using the remote control unit, hold the LPS
button depressed and press the number buttons and
CD/TUNER operation buttons as described below to
designate your present listening position.
If you perform the operation from the main unit, press
the sound field processor's LPS button, then within
five seconds, rotate the SOUND JOG dial to designate
your listening position.
@ This illustration shows the room divided into fifteen
positions, overlapped with the remote control's num-
ber buttons and tuner operation buttons. Use these
illustrations to set the optimum conditions for your
listening position.
© The display section indicates which of the positions
has been currently set.
NOTE:
The LPS effect may not be fully adequate in some cases
depending on the room size, speaker position and other
factors.

@ La fonction LPS est prévue pour remédier 4 ce type
de situation. En utilisant l'unité de télécommande,
maintenir la touche LPS enfoncée et appuyer sur les
touches numériques et les touches de fonctions
CD/TUNER comme décrit ci-dessous pour désigner la
position d'écoute actuelle. Pour effectuer cette opé-
ration depuis l'appareil principal, appuyer sur la tou-
che LPS du processeur de champ sonore, puis, en
moins de cing secondes, tourner le cadran SOUND
JOG pour désigner la position d'écoute.

positions, se chevauchant avec les touches numéri-
ques de I'unité de télécommande et les touches de
fonction du tuner. Utiliser ces illustrations pour régler
les conditions optimales pour la position d'écoute.

ment réglées.
