One-step
buttonhole
Your machine makes buttonholes to any length you choose in
only one easy step. Follow these instructions before making
buttonholes:
• You do not need to move the fabric or reposition the needle.
• Always make a practice buttonhole on a sample fabric. Use
this sample to help balance the buttonhole (page 68).
• Make sure bobbin contains enough thread.
• Mark buttonhole position on fabric (illustration 1).
• Turn pattern selector dial to position "A" and the stitch
length dial to buttonhole position.
RECOMMENDED INITIAL SETTINGS
Pattern: Position "A"
Needle position: Central
Stitch width: Position it between smaller and bigger button¬
hole mark.
Foot: Buttonhole presser foot
1. Place the button you will use into the restraining compart¬
ment of the foot (illustration 2). It will determine the length
of the buttonhole. Place the buttonhole presser foot in the
shank.
