The horizontal noise bars which appear during
fast playback,
slow motion
playback and
reverse playback can be adjusted horizontally.
To do
this, press the CHANNEL /\ or \ buttons on the VCR
or the JOG & or & buttons one at a time.

Colour coordinated displays and
buttons
Forcontrolling the on screen menus, the remotecontrol's
buttons and the menus are equivalently coloured. The
hints in the menus are shown in a colour which is the
same colour as the buttons you must use. The colours
that are used are as follows:
GREEN = VCR MENU/Settings
BLUE = VIDEO Plus+ programming
MAGENTA = One key programming

4-2-3 MENU operation
Using the 1-2-3 MENU you can easily do the basic VCR
operations such as playback, recording and programmed
recording. The interactive guide is displayed on the TV
screen.

Playback using the 1-2-3 MENU
1. Turn on the VCR by using the POWER button on
the remote control.

Turn on the TV and select the video channel.

Press the 1-2-3 MENU button.
(A message may
appear on the TV screen indicating that a cassette
should be inserted at this point.)

Insertapre-recordedtape. Once the tape has been
inserted, the 1-2-3 MENU display will appear on the
TV screen.

Press the number 1 button. (The VCR will auto-
matically rewind to the beginning of the tape and
then switch to forward search mode to locate the
first soundtrack, where it will begin to playback.)
You can end the playback at any time by

pressing the PLAY/STOP button.

Recording using the 1-2-3 MENU

Repeat steps 1 to 2 as described in 'Playback using
the 1-2-3 MENU' section.

Press the number 2 button.

Select the channel to be recorded by pressing the
JOG && or El buttons within 8 seconds. (After 4
seconds another display appears on the TV screen.
You can now set the recording time.)
