Playback
Rewind the tape with the REW button. Now press the PLAY/STOP button. You can stop the tape at any time with
the PLAY/STOP button and remove the tape by pressing the EJECT button. This VCR has a quick start function
which allows you to begin playback mode within 0.3 seconds, providing that the VCR has been in use within the last

After 5 minutes the VCR's drum will stop rotating to prevent damage to the tape.

Picture search
You can alter the playing speed by activating the SHUT-
TLE &2 or & buttons while playing a tape: pressing the
SHUTTLE
G3 button increments the forward search
speed.
Pressing the SHUTTLE &2 button increments
the reverse search speed.

There will be no colour during frame advance,
} still picture or picture search of LP recordings.
During still picture, the FF and REW buttons
on the VCR, operate the same as the SHUT-
TLE buttons on the remote control.
Pressing the FF
button is the same as pressing the SHUTTLE G3 button
and pressing the REW button is the same as pressing the
SHUTTLE & button.

Large noise bars will be apparent in frame
advance, still picture and all picture search

modes. This is nota malfunction and is normal for all two
head model video recorders.
(This note applies to the 721V(B) model video only.)

Still pictures
If you press the PAUSE button during playback, you will
obtain a still picture.
If the picture has a jitter you can
correctitby pressing the CHANNEL "\ or V buttons on
the VCR one at a time until the jittering improves.

Side to side vibrations cannot be adjusted
with still adjustment.

Frame advance
In still mode, repeated pressing of the JOG & or & but-
tons allows frame to frame movement.
If not in play or record mode, the JOG & or
SS
buttons are also forchannel selecting. Further-
more, the JOG & or & and SHUTTLE & or 3 buttons
are used for your personal programming of the on screen
menus.
After 5 minutes in still and slow motion play:

back, the VCR will go into stop mode to
prevent damage to the tape.

Fast forwarding and rewinding
When in stop mode, you can press the FF or REW
buttons to fast forward or rewind the tape with no picture.
If, while playing a tape and you press the FF
or REW button, the VCR will go into search
mode. For high speed search, press and hold the FF o
REW button for about 1 second before releasing, this
only applies toLP recordings. Pressing the button again,
or the PLAY/STOP button, resumes playback.

Automatic rewind mechanism
When the end of the tape is reached in record, playback
fast forward or forward search modes, it is automatically
rewound. When the tape runs out during recording using
the 1-2-3 MENU or one touch recording the tape stop;
and the VCR goes into standby mode.
When the tape
runs out in index search the tape stops.
During picture search the sound is muted.
Depending on tapes and the types of TV set
used, the picture may roll up and down, noise may bs
present and the colour may disappear.
