PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE
• When a buttonispressed on theAVR335 remote,
the redlightunderthe Input Selectorql_l_ for
the product b eingoperated shouldflashbriefly. I f
the Device Control Selector f lashes forsomebut
notall bultons for a particular product, i t doesNOT
indicate a problem withtheremotebut rather t hat
no funclloeisprogrammed f orthe buttonbeing
pushed.
Volume Punch-Through
TheAVR335's remote maybe programmed t o oper
atetheVolume Control0 andMute _ func
ricesof eithertheTVor theAVR335 inconjunction
withanyof the devices controlled b ythe remote. F or
example, sincetheAVB335 will likelybeusedasthe
sound system forTVviewing, youmaywishto have
theAVR335'svolume activated, attnough theremote
is setto runthe T_ Either t heAVB335 or TVvolume
control m aybe associated w ithanyof the remote's
devices. Thefactory default s ettingis to havethe
AVR 335's volume activated forall devices except
TAPE. Toprogram the remote tot Volume Punch
Through, followthesesteps:
1. Press t he InputSelector_ fortheunityouwish
to have associated w iththevolume control a ndthe
MuteButton _ atthesametimeuntil t he_ed
light a ppears u nder t he InputSelectorql_; the
Program IndicatorO will f lash amber.
2. Press theVolumeUpButton 0; theProgram
Indicator _ will s topflashing a ndstay amber
3. Press eithertheAVRSelector_ or theInput
Selectorql_, depending on whbhsystem's
volume conl_ol youwishto haveattached f or the
punch through mode. TheProgram/SPL I ndicator
O willblinkgreenthreetimes andthengo outto
confirm thedataenl_y.

TheAVB 335's remote maybe programmed to operate
sothattheTransportControlFunctions_ (Ray,
Stop, F ast F olward, Rewind, P ause a ndBecold) t ot a
VOB, D VD or CDwilloperate incorljuncfion withoneof
theotherdevices conholled bytheremote. Forexam-
ple,whileusing andcontrolling t heIK, youmaywish to
stallor stopyourVCBor DVD without h aving tochange
thedevice selected b ytheAVB335 orthe remote. The
factory defaultsetting is to havethe DVD's transport
conboIs activated w hentheAVR, V ID2/CABLE or SAT
or VID3/TV devices havebeenselected. Toprogram
theremote for@anspo_s ComolPunch-Through, follow
thesesteps:
1. Press t he InputSelectorql_l_ forthedevice
youwishb havethechannel conllolassociated
withandthe Mute Button _ atthesame
timeuntil t he redlightappears u nderthe Input
Selector_ andthe ProgramIndicator
flashes a mber.
2. Press the PlayButton _. TheProgram/SPL

Reassigning the VID4 Device Control
Selector
TheInputSelectors_ arenormally p rogrammed
to operate onlytheproduct c ategory shown onthe
remote above the bulton. T heexception istheVideo4
InputSelector_ whichmaybe programmed to
operate anydevice intheremote's library.
Toprogram theremote sothatthecodesfromone
product c ategory a rereassigned b theVideo4 bultoe,
followthesesteps:
1. PresstheVideo4 InputSelector_ andthe
Mute Button _ atthe same l_me untilthered
lightappears under t he InputSelector_ andthe
ProgramIndicator_ flashes a mber,
2. Pressthe InputSelector_ forthedevice you
wishb program inb the reassigned Video4 button
(e.g., V ideo3 for%.
3. Enter t he threedigitcodeforthespecific model
youwishthe reassigned V ideo4 buttonto operate.
4. PresstheVideo4 InputSelector_ once
againto store theselection. TheredLEDunderthe
Video4 Input S elector w illflash threetimesand
thengo out.
