PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE
TheAVR335 is equipped witha powerful r emote
control t hatwill control n ot onlythe receiver's f unc
tions, b ut alsomostpopular brands of audioandvideo
equipment, including CDplayers, c asseffe decks, TV
sets, c ableboxes, VCRs, s atellite r eceivers a ndother
hometheater e quipment. OncetheAVR335's remote
is programmed withthe codesforthe products you
own,it is possible to eliminate, mostotherremotes and
replace themwiththeconvenience of a single, universal
remote control
Programming the Device Codes
The AVR335 remote isfactoryprogrammed forallAVR
functions, aswellasthoseofmostHarman Kafdon CD
changers, DVD players, CDplayers a ndcassette d ecks.
Inaddition, byfollowing oneof themethods below, you
mayprogram theremote to operate a widerangeof
devices f_em ethermanufacturers.
Direct CodeEntry
Thismethod is the easiest wayto program your
remote to workwithdifferent p roducts,
1. Usethe tables in thefollowing pages to determine
the threedigitcodeor codesthatmatch boththe
product t ype (e,g., V CR, T V)andthespecific brand
name. I fthereis morethanonenumber f ora
brand, m akenoteof thedifferent c hoices.
2, Turnon theunityouwishto program intothe
AVR335 remote,
3. Press andhold boththe InputSelector0
for
the product y ouwishto control ( e,g,, V CR, T V)and
the Mute Button d]_ at thesame8me. W hen
the redlightunderthe InputSelector0

thecorrect c odehasbeenentered. Press theInput
Selector0
again, a ndnotethatthe redlight
willflash threehinesbefore goingdarkto confirm
theentry.
5. Ifthedeviceto be programmed i ndoesNOTturn
off,conllnue to enterthreedigitcodesuntilthe
equipment turnsoff.At thispoint, t he correct c ode
hasbeenentered. P resstheInput Selector0
againandnotethatthe redlightundertheInput
Selector0
will flash threetimesbeforegoing
darkto confirm the entry.
6. Tryallof thefunctions on theremote to makecer
rainthatthe product o perates properly. Keep in
mindthatmanymanufacturers usea numberof
different c ombinations of codes, s o it is a good
ideato makecertain thatnotonlythepower
control, b utthe volume, c hannel andtransport
controls workastheyshould. I ffunctions do not
workproperly, youmayneedto usea different
remote code.
7. If a codecannotbe entered to turnthe unitoff,
if the codefor yourproduct d oesnotappearin
the tablesin thismanual, o r if notall functions
operateproperly, try programming t he remote
withthe AutoSearchMethod.

Code Readout
When the codehasbeenentered using theAuto
Search method, i t is always a goodideato findoutthe
exactcodesothatit maybe easily reentered if neces
san/. Y oumayalsoreadthe codesto verify which
devicehasbeenprogrammed to a specific Control
Selector b utton.

for the deviceyouwishto find the codefor and

indicate a "0':
Example: Oneblink,tollowed bya onesecondpause,
followed by sixblinks, f ollowed bya onesecond

Macro Programming
Macros e nable youto easily repeat f requently u sed
