TheF UL L 0 SD menusystem is usedto simplify
thesetupandadjustment of theAVR335, usinga
series of on-screen menus. Thefactory default s etting
forthesemenusleaves themon thescreen for 20
seconds aftera periodof inactivity b etore theydis@
pearfromthe screen_imeOut). T imeOutisa safeS/
measure to prevent i mage_etention o fthe menu text
inyourmonitor or projectoT, whichmight h appen if it
werebff on indefinitely. However, someviewers may
prefer a slightly longeror shorterperiodbefore the
TimeOutdisplay.

Default Surround Mode
In normal o peration, whentheAVR335 senses a
DolbyDigital o r DTSdigital a udiodatastream, i t will
automaScally switchthe appropriate d efault s urround
mode,withtheAVRresponding t o the dataflagsthat
areencoded on the DVD discor inthe digital v ideo
broadcast. Inmostcases, thisis the correct m ode,but
youmayhavea particular p retemnce f or the mode
youwishto hearwhenDolbyDigital o r DTSis present.
TheAVR335 allowsyouto setthe unitsothatit will
eitherrespond to the default o r switchto your
desired mode.
If youwishto leavethedefault s o thatthe mode
choiceencoded inthe discisalways used,nofurther
actionis needed. S implyhavethe settingatthe
factory detaultof ON.
