What to Do in Case of Emergency
Warning/Indicator Light Turns On
Electric Parking Brake
(EPB) Indicator Light
The light turns on when applying the
parking brake and it turns off when
releasing the parking brake.
Parking brake warning/Indicator light
inspection
The light illuminates when the parking
brake is applied with the vehicle power
switched to START or ON. It turns off
when the parking brake is released.
Turning on
If the light remains on even with the
electric parking brake (EPB) switch
turned off, the system may have a
malfunction. Have the vehicle
inspected by an Authorized Mazda
Dealer.
Flashing
The light flashes if the system has a
problem. If the light remains flashing
even if the electric parking brake (EPB)
switch is pressed, consult an
Authorized Mazda Dealer as soon as
possible.

Check Engine Warning
Light
WARNING
Do not disconnect the lead-acid
battery cables when the check engine
warning light is turned on/flashing.
The engine may be damaged when
reconnecting the lead-acid battery
cables, which could result in a fire.
The light turns on if the engine has a
problem while it is running.
Park the vehicle in a safe place
immediately and contact an
Authorized Mazda Dealer.
If any of the following problems occur,
the check engine warning light turns
on.
There is a problem with the engine
control system
There is a problem with the emission
control system
There is a problem with the
transmission control system
(e-SKYACTIV G)
There is a problem with the M
Hybrid
The fuel tank level being very low or
approaching empty.
The fuel-filler cap is missing or not
tightened securely
If the check engine warning light
remains turned-on/flashing, do not
drive at high speed and have the
vehicle inspected by an Authorized
Mazda Dealer as soon as possible.
