OVERCASTING-OVERLOCKING
Seam edges which tend to ravel can be given a
durable finish with machine overcasting.
Press the seam open and stitch each side
separately near the edge of the seam allowance.

THREE-STITCH ZIGZAG
OVERCASTING
The three-stitch zigzag is used for overcasting
knitted fabrics and mending tears.
When mending a three-cornered tear sew from
each end to the center.
For large tears, place piece of fabric under the tear
as a reinforcement.
ZIGZAG PIQUE
Le zigzag piqué est utilisé pour surfiler les tissus
fins et les tissus de jerseys ou pour réparer une
déchirure.
Lorsque |'on reprise une déchirure en angle, coudre
depuis la fin contre le centre.
Pour une déchirure plus conséquente, renforcer en
plagant une piéce de tissu sous la déchirure.
