Installation Instructions – Sure-Lites SELHP100R3 / SELHP100R3SD Emergency Light
J-BOX MOUNTING INSTALLATION
1.
Before starting installation, make sure AC power is turned OFF .
2.
Remove the unit's backplate by pushing through the two oval shaped locking tabs at the bottom using a narrow
screwdriver.
3.
Feed fixture leads through the backplate and connect to AC power supply leads (Fig A) coming into the J-box (not
provided). Connect the Orange wire to the Hot line and White wire to the Neutral of 120-277V power supply.
4.
Attach backplate to J-Box (not provided) and secure with screws.
5.
Complete the battery connection. See Connecting Remote Lamps if using remote capacity of fixture.
6.
Align tabs and push housing directly onto the backplate.
7 .
Apply continuous AC power.
8.
After the battery has been left to charge for 24 hours, test the unit by pushing the test switch and the LED lamp heads
will turn ON.
CONDUIT MOUNT INSTALLATION
1.
Before starting installation, make sure AC power is turned OFF .
2.
Remove the unit's backplate by pushing through the two oval shaped locking tabs at
the bottom using a narrow screwdriver.
3.
Secure backplate to wall surface using keyhole knockouts.
4.
Remove the knockouts for conduit opening on the backplate and unit housing.
Feed wires through the hole to make conduit connection. Connect the Orange
wire to the Hot line and White wire to the Neutral of 120-277V power supply.
5.
Complete the battery connection. See Connecting Remote Lamps if using
remote capacity of fixture.
6.
Align tabs and push housing directly onto the back plate.
7 .
Apply continuous AC power.
8.
After the battery has been left to charge for 24 hours, test the unit by pushing the test switch and the LED lamp heads
will turn ON.
CONNECTING REMOTE LAMPS
1.
Bring the wires for remote lamps into the unit. This unit outputs at 9.6V. Ensure any remote lamps can accept this
voltage without damage.
2.
Connect the remote load to the Blue and Yellow wires on the PCBA inside the fixture. Connect the remote's positive
terminal to the the Yellow Wire (+) and the remote's negative terminal to the Blue Wire (-). Secure and connect wires per
all relevant codes and standards.
3.
(SD Only) Remove the jumper JP1 on the PCBA to enable SD load measuring of the remote line.
4.
Resume standard installation.

OPERATION

The battery in this unit may not be fully charged. After electricity is connected to the unit for atleast 24 hours, then normal
operation of this unit should take effect. To check, press the "TEST" button. The LED lamps on the unit should turn ON.
In accordance with NFPA 101, the emergency lighting system must be tested monthly for a minimum of 30 seconds and
annually for 90 minutes. Refer to the local codes for any additional requirements that may apply.
