5. Start the engine and allow it to idle. Check the oil
pressure and that there is no leakage by the fil-
ters.
6. Stop the engine. Wait a few minutes before you
check the oil level. Top up as necessary.
NOTE! Process the old oil filters in accordance with
local regulations.
Oil filters and by-pass filter. Changing
Change the oil filters and by-pass filter every second
oil change. The by-pass filter location is on the right
side, and the switchable type oil filters are located at
the rear of the engine.
Switchable oil filters can be changed while running as
the flow of oil can be cut off to one filter at a time.
NOTE! Leave the old filters to a destruction plant.
Switchable type oil filters
1. Put a vessel underneath the filters and carefully
clean the filter bracket.
2. Disconnect oil flow through the filter by turning the
lever (1) to the right-hand end position.
3. Unscrew the left-hand oil filter and discard it. Use
a filter wrench if necessary.
4. Check that the mating surfaces on the filter brack-
et are clean, and that no traces of the seal from
the old oil filter remain.
5. Wipe some oil on the rubber seal for the new filter.
6. Screw the filter on by hand until the rubber seal
just touches the mating surface of the filter brack-
et. Then tighten the filter a further 3/4 of a turn.
7. Turn the lever to the left-hand end position and
change the right-hand oil filter in the same way.
8. Put the lever in operating position (straight up).

9. Top up with oil at first stop. Refer to "Engine oil
changing" instruction on the previous page.
