: The Ink Tab
The estimated amount of ink and the status of
the chip unit that is mounted on the printer are
displayed.
The display changes, as shown below, if a
warning or error occurs.
Normal
or
1 Status indicators
The status of the chip unit and the indicators
that estimate and display the amount of ink is
shown as follows.
:
It is estimated that there is enough
ink in the ink tank to print with no
problems.
The number of indicator levels
decreases according to the
estimated amount of ink.
:
The amount of ink is estimated to
be low.
Prepare a new ink pack.
:
The estimated amount of ink is
near its limits. Check the amount
of ink remaining and replace the
chip unit and refill the ink with
one pack of ink if the ink is below
the top edge of the metal plate (50
mm or less). If the remaining ink
is more than 50 mm from the
bottom of the ink tank, continue
to use the printer until it is below
50 mm before replacing and
refilling.
Introduction
During a

Printing has stopped because the
estimate amount of ink has
reached its limits.
Replace the chip unit and refill the
ink with one pack of ink.
The bottom of the indicators changes accord‐
ing to the status of the chip unit, as shown
below.
:
A chip unit for automatic

charging
is mounted.
Therefore, the warning does not
occur when the estimated amount
of ink is low. Refill the ink with
one pack of ink if the remaining
amount is below the top edge of
the metal plate (50 mm or less).
:
(When flashing)
The chip for automatic charging
that was mounted has been
removed.
When the slider with the chip unit
is installed and the side cover is
closed, the icon is displayed
normally.
The chip unit you removed is as
good as new.
:
Cannot perform automatic
charging because the side cover is
open. Close the side cover.

This refers to one of the following
statuses.
:
Mount the chip unit correctly, or
replace it with a correct chip unit.
The chip unit has been mounted
incorrectly.
A chip unit for an ink pack of a
different color than the ink tank is
mounted.
A chip unit for an ink pack that is
incompatible with this printer is
mounted.
