For example, if the optical zoom lens on the visible imager is set to full wide angle, objects at
the far right and left of the visible image will not be visible on the thermal image. In this
situation, arrow symbols will appear on the thermal image to indicate that the VCA on the
visible image is detecting objects. The following figure illustrates the objects and the arrow
symbols.
The arrows at the left edge of the image on the right indicate the vehicle that is out of view of
the thermal imager but in view of the visible imager. In the image on the left, from the visible
imager, a yellow box identifies the vehicle.
