Gas Control Instructions
Start-Up
1. Turn thermostat to "OFF" position and power switch to "OFF" position.
2. Open control panel access door located on right side at bottom.
3. Turn dial on combination control to "PILOT" position by rotating
knob counterclockwise. NOTE: Any gas service valves exterior to
the unit should be open.
4. Lift the shutter (see Fig. 1) on the heat shield to gain access
to the pilot burner, which is located on the right side of the left
burner, approximately 6 inches into the combustion chamber.
5. Depress the dial on the combination gas control while lighting the
pilot burner. Hold the dial in for 30 to 45 seconds until the pilot
remains lit. Release the dial. Pilot should remain lit.
NOTE: A lit taper, long wooden match or barbecue lighter is
recommended for easy access in the lighting of the pilot burner.
6. Turn dial on combination gas control to "ON."
