  • Page 8 VANTAGE 549 INSTALLATION General Description OUTPUT @ 104°F(40°C) - WELDER AND GENERATOR The VANTAGE® 549 is a diesel engine-driven welding power source. The machine uses a brush type alternating current Welding Range generator for DC multi-purpose welding, for 120/240 VAC single 30 - 575 Amps CC/CV phase and 240V three phase auxiliary standby power.

As the wire feed speed is adjusted, the VANTAGE® 549 will automatically recalculate the waveform parameters to maintain similar arc properties. The VANTAGE® 549 utilizes “adaptive control” to compensate for changes in the electrical stick-out while welding. (Electrical stick-out is the distance from the contact tip to the work piece.)
