Advanced Use
❍ When making MIDI channel settings
MIDI uses sixteen MIDI channels (1–16). If you want to play
a connected external device, there will be no sound unless
the MIDI channels of the transmitting and receiving devices
match.
When setting the VK-8M's MIDI channel, connect the VK-8M
to an external keyboard with a MIDI cable, then use the
keyboard to change the setting.
For information on the MIDI transmit/receive channels
in effect after factory reset, refer to "MIDI
Implementation" (p. 57).
1.
Make sure to have the keyboard connected before you
start (p. 14).
2.
Hold down the [BANK] buttons and press the [TONE
WHEEL] button.
The indicators of buttons [1]–[6] will blink.
3.
Use the [1]–[6] buttons to select the part whose MIDI
channel you want to change.
There are 9 MIDI-related parameters.
Pressing the [H-BAR PART] button causes the button's
color to change and allows you to select all parameters.
There are five parameters that change the MIDI channel.
For the parameter that is assigned to each button, refer to
page 44.
4.
Press the C2–D#3 keys on the external keyboard to set
the MIDI channels.
