CAUTION
Vehicles with front bench seat:
D
Do not install a child (convertible)
seat in the front center position.
This seat position is not designed
to hold a child (convertible) seat.
If used in the front center position,
depending on its type, the child
(convertible) seat may interfere with
the proper usage of the driver's and
front passenger's seat belts. It may
also hamper your driving.
Double−cab models:
D
Do not install a rear−facing child
(convertible) seat in the rear center
position. This seat position is not
designed to hold a rear−facing child
(convertible) seat. Otherwise, the
child or front seat occupant(s) may
be killed or seriously injured in
case of sudden braking or a colli-
sion.

To install the child (convertible) seat:
1. Run the center lap belt through or
around the child (convertible) seat fol-
lowing the instructions provided by its
manufacturer and insert the tab into
the buckle taking care not to twist the
lap belt.
CAUTION
After inserting the tab, make sure
D
the tab and buckle are locked and
that the lap belt is not twisted.
Do not insert coins, clips, etc. in
D
the buckle as this may prevent you
from properly latching the tab and
buckle.
If the seat belt does not function
D
normally, it cannot protect your
child from death or serious injury.
Contact your Toyota dealer immedi-
ately.
Do
not
install
restraint system on the seat until
the seat belt is fixed.
