Air Line Accessories

To ensure a dry, clean air supply to the gun, install an
air line filter and an air and water separator on the air
lines. See Fig. 1 . Dirt and moisture can ruin the
appearance of your finished workpiece and can cause
the gun to malfunction.
Install an air regulator on each of the air supply lines to
control the air pressure to the gun and pump.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury due to compo-
nent rupture:
Pump pressure must be limited by the pump air
regulator (C). See Fig. 1 . Do not rely on the
gun fluid regulator (J) to limit the fluid pressure
to the gun.
The fluid supply pump must be prevented from
producing a fluid pressure greater than the 3000
psi (207 bar) Maximum Working Pressure of the
spray gun. For example, the air supply pressure
to a 30:1 pump must not exceed 100 psi (7 bar).
Be sure that all spray equipment and accesso-
ries added to the spray system are properly
rated to withstand the maximum working pres-
sure of your system.

Install a bleed-type air shutoff valve on the atomization
(A2) air line to shut off atomization air to the gun. See
Fig. 1 .
The bleed-type air shutoff valve is required on the
gun atomization line so trapped air will be relieved
between the valve and the gun after the valve is
closed. Trapped air can cause the gun to spray
unexpectedly, which could result in serious injury,
including fluid injection and splashing in the eyes or
on the skin.
Install a bleed-type air shutoff valve on the main air line
and the pump air line to shut off air to the pump. Install
an additional bleed-type valve on each pump air supply
line to relieve air trapped between this valve and the
pump after the air regulator is shut off. See Fig. 1 .
The bleed-type air shutoff valve is required on the
pump air supply line to relieve air trapped between
this valve and the pump after the air regulator is
closed. Trapped air can cause the pump to cycle
unexpectedly, which could result in serious injury,
including splashing in the eyes or on the skin and
injury from moving parts.
