Acquiring and Displaying Ranges

Within a single timeout, ranges to any number of transponders that have reply
frequencies in the range 7–16 kHz, in 250-Hz increments, can be acquired,
displayed and output on the COM2 serial port. Although ranges are
determined from all the received replies, including multiple replies of the
same frequency, filtering can be applied to block the display of ranges for
replies of specific frequencies. In addition, the display of ranges for all but the
first of the replies of the same frequency can be blocked. Ranges that are
blocked from being displayed are not output on the COM2 serial port.
To acquire and display ranges:
1. Touch the Transpond Data
function button:
The Transpond Data screen opens
as shown in Figure 4-52.
2. Touch Transpond Options to open
the Transpond Options pop-up if it
is not already open as shown.
NOTE The Transpond Options
pop-up includes the Change
Settings button which opens the
Transpond Parameters pop-up.
3. Touch Filtering.
4. The Transponder Filter Editing
pop-up opens as shown in
Figure 4-53.
NOTE The Transponder Filter
Editing pop-up can also be opened
from the Release/Range screen by
first touching Change Settings to
open the Transpond Parameters
pop-up, and then touching Filtering.
5. Select the reply frequencies to block. Blocked frequencies will be
received but will not be displayed or output on COM2.
