Installation and operation
4.1 Notes on installation
The transponder contains 2 lithium batteries.
Risk of serious injuries
• Only change the batteries outside of hazardous areas or in the absence of explosive
• Do not transport batteries through hazardous areas.
• Use only approved battery types for operating the transponder.
• Operate the transponder in hazardous areas only with the battery holders.
• Improper handling of batteries can lead result in fires and burns.
The housing is installed using the screw channels located outside the sealed chamber. Fasten
the transponder using the four 5 mm holes located there and with screws suitable for them.
The upper and lower parts of the housing are screwed together with M4 screws. Tighten the
M4 screws with a torque of 1.2 Nm.
Battery change
Use approved batteries
Installation of non-approved or damaged batteries may result in damage to the transponder
or its surroundings. Only use batteries approved by the manufacturer, see section "Technical
specifications (Page 21)". Before inserting the batteries, make sure that they are not
damaged.
Proceed as follows to change the batteries in the transponder:
1. Open the housing of the transponder with a suitable tool.
2. Use only batteries of the same type and same charge level.
3. Remove the batteries to be replaced with the battery holders and wait 30 seconds before
inserting the new batteries with battery holder with the correct polarity. Never operate the
transponder with only a single battery.
4. Verify the correct installation of the battery and battery holder.
5. Close the housing of the transponder with a suitable tool.
