Preparing for use
5.1
Approvals
Depending on the national and local laws, you require approvals and permits before the
installation of a SICHARGE UC charging system. This section presents typical items for the
commissioning of a SICHARGE UC charging system.
5.1.1
Mains connection
Each SICHARGE UC charging station requires an input current connection of 228 Amps AC
with an operating voltage of 400 V AC. A normal power connection for private households or
small businesses is not enough.
Check, measure and report the position of the cables between the power distributor and the
SICHARGE UC charging station.
If a grid upgrade is necessary, contact the responsible electricity provider and grid owner. Ask
about the required work to fulfill the requirements in the section Electrical installation (Page
54).
5.1.2
Construction approvals
The installation of the SICHARGE UC charging station requires the following construction
work:
Work permit. Contact your local government to receive information on the required
approvals.
• Specifications for a solid foundation
• Cable conduits for the cabling between power distributor and the power cabinet. The
cable conduits are usually laid underground.
• Parking spaces for electric vehicles
• Signage on or next to the road to position a bus.
