HomePort in Standard Mode
Note: Standard Mode is not a common configuration and should be used only if your network
administrator recommends it.
Using Standard mode for the HomePort requires you to obtain a separate IP address in the
same subnet as your WAN IP address. You can obtain another IP address from your ISP. Once
you have the WAN IP address, you can configure the HomePort in the following manner:
1. Log into the Management interface from the WorkPort PC using a Web browser and the
WorkPort IP address configured for the TELE3 TZ or TELE3 TZX.
2. Click Advanced, and then HomePort.
3. Select HomePort in Standard Mode and enter the WAN IP address you received from
your ISP into the From Address Range field. If you have a range of IP addresses to use,
enter the beginning range in the From Address Range field, and the last IP address in
the To Address field.
4. Click Update for the settings to take effect on the SonicWALL.
To delete an address range, highlight the address in the Range field and click Delete Range.
The configuration is automatically updated after the address range is deleted.
Configuring Printers on the HomePort
It is recommended that you configure your printer for your home PC to be on the HomePort
subnet (network), since by default, network traffic is not allowed from the HomePort to the
WorkPort. Therefore, if you configure your printer on the WorkPort network, users on the home
PC cannot access the printer on the WorkPort.
