CALL ALERT™

Call Alert lets you privately page an individual by sending an audible alert.
You'll want to send a Call Alert when the person you need to talk to is not
expecting your call and you don't want to disturb them. Plus, you can use
Call Alert at no cost to contact another Nextel Direct Connect subscriber
and avoid airtime charges.
Sending a Call Alert
1. Open the cover.

4. Enter the Private ID or press
of the person to whom you want to send the Call Alert.
You may also select the person by pressing
using Name Search.
5. Press the PTT button to send the Call Alert.
Receiving a Call Alert
When you receive a Call Alert, you hear a brief alert chirp (or you can
change the alert to vibrate, see "Vibration Alert" on page 19), and see an
alert on your display with the name or number of the caller.
• To return the Call Alert, press the PTT button, wait for the chirp and
speak; release it to listen.
• Or, to clear the Call Alert, press
key other than the PTT button to silence the alert tones.
Until the Call Alert is clear ed or r etur ned, you will not
receive any additional Phone, Gr oup, or Pri vate calls.
