Web and E-mail Paging
Now, you can send a text message from any Personal Computer that has
access to the Internet via the Nextel Home Page or e-mail to a Nextel phone.
Web Paging
You can access the Nextel Home Page at www.nextel.com and click
"Send a Page ". Then address your message to your business associate's or
friend's Nextel 10-digit Private Telephone Number. For example: type in
7035551234. Then type your message in the message box and click "Send ".
The only limit is 140 characters.
Or Use E-Mail Paging
Simply address your e-mail message to your business associate's or friend's
Nextel 10-digit Personal Telephone Number followed by@page.nextel.com
(for example: 7035551234@page.nextel.com). Again, the only limit is 140
characters.
Checking Message Delivery
Nextel offers three different ways to confirm if your message was delivered.
Simply go back to the Nextel Web site at www.nextel.com and choose one
of the following three options:
• 1. Click on the "Message Status" button and the system will track
your message and report back to you on the delivery status of
your page.
or
• 2. Record the claim number when you send your page. Later go back
to the Nextel Web site, click on the "Message Status" Web link,
enter your claim number and the Nextel phone number of the
person you paged. Once again, we will track your message and
report back to you on the delivery status of your page.
or
• 3. On the Nextel Web site, when you send your message, enter the
e-mail address in the "E-mail Confirmation" space. A reply
message will be sent to you letting you know that your message
was indeed delivered.
Notification of New Text and Numeric Pages
Your Nextel Phone will alert you when you have a new text or numeric
page, even if you are on another call. If you are using Nextel Direct
Connect
your page will be held and delivered upon completion of your call.
