replaceable units (CRU) and which components are field replaceable units (FRU).
v If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must be performed only by a
trained service technician.

Action
1. (Trained service technician only) Reseat the
microprocessor.
2. Replace the following components one at a time,
in the order shown, restarting the server each
time:
a. (Trained service technician only)
Microprocessor
b. (Trained service technician only) System
board
1. Start the BIOS Setup Utility program, select Exit,
select Load Default Setting, and then select
Save Changes and Exit.
2. Update the BIOS code:
a. Download the latest version of the BIOS code
from http://www.ibm.com/systems/support/.
b. Update the BIOS code, following the
instructions that come with the update file that
you downloaded.
3. Replace the following components one at a time,
in the order shown, restarting the server each
time:
a. Battery
b. (Trained service technician only) System
board.
1. Update the firmware on the baseboard
management controller.
2. (Trained service technician only) Replace the
system board.
