About Quality Control

Quality control (QC) testing ensures that Atellica VTLi Immunoassay Analyzer is working
correctly and providing accurate results.
Use commercially available control solutions for the quality control procedure.
Refer to the quality control material package insert for proper handling and preparation
instructions.
Siemens Healthineers recommends you run a quality control test:
‒ when you deploy a new Atellica VTLi Immunoassay analyzer for testing
‒ at regular intervals determined by your hospital or laboratory regulations
‒ when using a new shipment of reagents or a new lot of reagents
‒ when an unexpected result is displayed
‒ when the analyzer is locked from testing due to QC lockout

Guidelines when running a QC test

‒ Use only commercially available quality control materials, validated and proven by your
laboratory, with the Atellica VTLi analyzer in point of care settings.
‒ Each laboratory is responsible for following their validation procedures for quality
control materials.
‒ Follow the instructions for use included with the quality control materials, as
commercially available quality control materials have unique environmental
requirements and limitations.
‒ Don't use control solution after the expiration date on the bottle.
‒ Always perform QC tests in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines or
national regulations.
‒ Follow the manufacturer's storage and handling instructions for quality control material.
Improper storage and handling of control materials can cause erroneous results.
‒ QC test results are transferred to the hospital information system, if configured.
