4.2.3 Subnet Mask
Subnet is a 32-bit address that indicates how many bits in the address are used as network IDs
Because of network management purpose and special purpose, the following addresses cannot be
set.
1. When the host part addresses are all "0"
Used as network address.
2. When the host part addresses are all "1"
Used when broadcasting to all terminals belonging to the branch line as an IP broadcast
3. When all addresses of the host part are "1"
IP broadcast of 255.255.255. If the issuer declares its own network address
If you do not know, use for example with DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)
4. All 32 are all "0"
If the destination address is not in the routing table, specify the address to send next. (Default
gateway)
5. Address beginning with "127"
