Chapter 1 Prior to Set-Up

Operation panel

1 Message Display
Machine status and errors are indicated on the message display.
2 Copier/Printer/Scanner key
Press this key when you want to switch between the Copier
mode, the Printer mode and the Scanner mode, and when you
want to switch the copier on- and off-line. Once "On line ...
Key" or "Off line ... Key", as appropriate, is displayed, press
the Enter key in order to complete the procedure.
3 Printer Data / On-line indicator
This indicator is lit to indicate when the copier is on-line and goes
out when it is off-line.
4 Numeric keys
Use the numeric keys when you want to enter a desired value for
one of the various settings.
5 * / Language key
Press this key during setting of the copier's IP address as well as
when you want to make a test print.
6 NMO P cursor keys
Use these cursor keys in order to select the various setting
modes.
7 Enter key
Press this key when you want to register a setting.
8 Start key
When the default setting for the "Method of copy start" in the
copier is set to "Start key", press this key when you want to initiate
scanning.
9 Reset key
Press this key when you want to cancel settings and return to the
initial mode.
0 Stop/Clear key
Press this key when you want to stop printing or clear entered
values when performing various settings.
