Connect Redundant DC Power to the PTX3000 DC Power Supply Modules
To connect the DC source power cables to both DC PSM inputs for redundant power:
To connect the packet transport router to DC power, you need the following tools and

7/16-in. (11 mm) nut driver, for tightening nuts to the terminal studs
CAUTION:
the nuts. Applying excessive torque damages the terminal studs. The
maximum torque that may be applied to this nut is 24 lb-in. (2.7 Nm).

Ensure that the voltage across the DC power source cable leads is 0 V and that there

is no chance that the cable leads might become active during installation.
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect

the strap to the ESD point on the chassis.
Switch the power switch on the power supply module (PSM) faceplate to the standby

Loosen the captive screw on the PSM.

Grasp the PSM, and pull it out to remove it from the chassis (see
