2. Drain the printer from ink, cont'd.
• Press <Enter> and wait for about 2 minutes. Then continue as
follows:
DRAIN INK PULL
• Press the <Cursor right> key four (4) times.
WIPE
• Press the <Enter> key. The procedure takes 20–30 seconds.
WIPE
• Repeat by pressing <Enter> once again.
• After the second wipe procedure is completed, turn off the
printer by pressing the Power button on the printer's front.
• Put back the pad and secure it with packing tape (see 4.1:7).
• Attach the PHS cover.
3. Remove the ink cartridges
• Open the front cover (see 4.2:1).
• Pull out the four ink cartridges (see 4.2:2).
• Insert the shipping pads in place of the ink cartridges (see 4.2:1).
• Close the front cover (see 4.2:3).
• Remove any paper supply.
4. Disassemble the printer
• Disconnect all communication cables and the power cord.
• Open the sub cover at the back of the printer and move the green
lever to its upper position (see 4.1:5). Reattach the sub cover.
• Open the printer cover and the PHS unit and put the paper towels
back on top of the main unit (see 4.6:9).
• Put back the pad under the PHS unit (see 4.1:7) and close the
PHS unit and printer cover.
• Secure the PHS unit and printer cover with some packing tape
(see 4.1:1) after making sure that the tape adhesive does not
damage the surface of the printer.
5. Repack the printer
• Pack the printer in its original container as illustrated in chapter
2.1 but in reverse order.
• Always place the printer box on a pallet or similar to ensure that
it is transported in upright position. Label accordingly (this side
up!).
