7.9 Tracing Cooling Fan Faults

PROCEDURE:
If the cooling fan will not start
1.
Enter technician diagnostic mode to test the cooling fan operation. Refer to Section 6 on pg. 34.
The cooling fan will operate at low speed in normal operation. When the cooling fan is
turned on in diagnostics, it be set to run at low speed or high speed.
2.
Test for the correct voltage across the cooling fan contacts. Replace the fan if tests are good.
3.
If no power, check the fan wiring continuity back to the power board
If the wiring continuity is good, then it is likely that the cooling fan is not faulty
4.
Replace the power board
If the cooling fan will not turn off
1.
Check for temperature sensor faults. Refer to Section 7.13 on pg. 45.
The cooling fan will operate at low speed until the cavity temperature is below 300°F
(150°C). If the cavity temperature is above 520°F (270°C), the cooling fan will operate at
high speed.
2.
Replace the power board if no other component faults can be found

7.10 Tracing Cavity Fan Faults

PROCEDURE:
If oven cavity fan will not operate
1.
Enter technician diagnostic mode to test the oven cavity fan operation. Refer to Section 6 on pg.
34.
2.
If the oven cavity fan operates in diagnostics but not in normal operation, check for door switch
faults. Refer to Section 7.15 on pg. 48.
3.
If the door switch is OK, and cavity fan is not operating, test for 220/240 VAC across fan contacts.
If voltage is correct at fan contacts but the fan is not operating, replace the cavity fan.
4.
If no voltage, check the continuity of the fan wiring circuit back to power board, including thermal
limiters
5.
If the wiring continuity is good, then it is likely that the oven cavity fan is not faulty. Replace the
power board.
If the oven cavity fan will not turn off
1.
Replace the power board if no other component faults can be found. The cooling fan relay may be
faulty.

7.11 Tracing Light Faults

PROCEDURE:
If light bulb is not working
1.
Replace halogen bulb. Refer to Section 8.12 on pg. 55.
If all the lights will not turn, on or replacing the bulb/s did not fix the problem
1.
Check for 12 VAC to lamp assemblies from the transformer
Replace the lamp assembly if there is voltage present but light still not operating. Refer to
Section 8.13 on pg. 58.
2.
If no power, check the supply voltage from power board to the transformer
Replace the power board if no voltage supplied to transformer. Refer to Section 8.6 on pg.
54.
If the lights do not turn off
1.
Check to see if the door switch is faulty
If the faulty door switch cannot be easily repaired, replace the door lock assembly
