4.16 Thermal Limiter
These products have manually resettable thermal
limiters.
Single ovens have one thermal limiter below the cooling
fan. Limiter is mounted on a bracket with spacers
underneath.
Double ovens have three thermal limiters, one for the
upper cavity and two for the lower cavity in series. On
the lower cavity, one limiter is mounted on a bracket
with spacers below the cooling fan; the other limiter is
mounted on the vent channel.
A thermal limiter will cut off power to the elements/
product, if it senses any malfunction in the cooling
system (see table below). When a limiter is tripped
"open", the reset button (orange tab) on the body will
be sticking out and there will be no continuity across its
contacts. The reset button needs to be pushed back to
reset the limiter.
If a limiter is found to be open, the root cause of the
tripping needs to be diagnosed and repaired. Refer to
Section 7.14, Tracing Limiter Faults (pg. 46).
All limiters used on these models are identical.
