Module LEDs

Use the following table to find solutions to problems that are identified by LEDs on
the modules installed in BladeCenter HT unit.
Note: To find descriptions and actions for LEDs on I/O modules or blade servers,
see the documentation that comes with the device.
v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem
is solved.
v See Chapter 3, "Parts listing," on page 23 to determine which components are CRUs and which
components are FRUs.
v If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must be performed only by a
trained service technician.
LED status
Management module:
Error LED lit
(Amber)
Power module:
Input power LED not lit
(Green)
Power module:
Output power LED not lit
(Green)
Power module:
Fan error LED lit
(Amber)
Description
A critical error has occurred in
the management module.
There is no power being
supplied to the power module
or the power module has failed.
There is no power being
supplied to the power module
or the power module has failed.
The fan pack has failed.
Action
1. Reseat the management module and
management-module interposer.
2. Reset and reconfigure the management
module. See the BladeCenter Advanced
Management Module Installation Guide for
more information.
3. Replace the management module.
Make sure that:
1. All power cords are plugged into compatible
power sources and that the power sources are
working.
2. The shuttle release handles are in the closed
position and the captive thumbscrews are
tightened.
Replace the power module with a power module
that is known to work. If the problem remains, go
to "Solving undetermined problems" on page 118.
