Focusing manually

You can gain better results by manually adjusting
the focus in the following cases:
•The autofocus mode is not effective when
shooting:
– subjects through glass coated with water
droplets
– horizontal stripes
– subjects with little contrast with backgrounds
such as walls and sky
•When you want to change the focus from a
subject in the foreground to a subject in the
background.
•Shooting a stationary subject when using a
tripod.
(1) Set FOCUS to MANU in CAMERA or
MEMORY mode. The 9 indicator appears.
(2) Turn the focus ring to sharpen focus.
To return to the autofocus mode
Set FOCUS to AUTO.
To record distant subjects
When you set FOCUS to INFINITY, the lens
focuses on and indicator appears. When you
release FOCUS, your camcorder returns to the
manual focus mode. Use this mode when your
camcorder focuses on near objects even though
you are trying to shoot a distant object.

In de volgende gevallen kunt u betere
opnameresultaten bereiken door handmatig
scherp te stellen:
•Wanneer de autofocus niet goed werkt, bij het
opnemen van:
– onderwerpen achter matglas of beslagen
vensterglas
– onderwerpen met horizontale strepen
– onderwerpen met weinig tekening of contrast,
met op de achtergrond een wand, de lucht,
enz.
•Wanneer u de scherpstelling wilt veranderen,
van een onderwerp op de voorgrond naar een
onderwerp op de achtergrond.
•Voor het opnemen van een stilstaand
onderwerp, met de camcorder op een statief.
(1) Zet de FOCUS schakelaar op "MANU", met
de camcorder in de "CAMERA" of
"MEMORY" stand. De 9
scherpstelaanduiding verschijnt.
(2) Draai aan de scherpstelring tot u uw
onderwerp scherp in beeld hebt.

Terugkeren naar de automatische
scherpstelling
Zet de FOCUS schakelaar terug in de "AUTO"
stand.
Opnemen van een erg ver verwijderd
onderwerp
Wanneer u de FOCUS schakelaar naar
"INFINITY" schuift, wordt de lens op maximale
afstand scherpgesteld en dan verschijnt de
oneindig-aanduiding. Zodra u de FOCUS
schakelaar loslaat, zal de handmatig gemaakte
scherpstelling weer gelden. Gebruik deze functie
bijvoorbeeld als uw camcorder ten onrechte
scherpstelt op een obstakel op de voorgrond,
terwijl u juist een vergezicht e.d. wilt filmen.
