You can insert a compact flash card
To remove the card, press the eject button. See "About memory cards" on page 32 for
details.

[MIC PEAK] indicators
When the input signal from the [ANALOG IN] XLR connector is too hot, the corresponding
[MIC PEAK] indicator lights up. When you record a signal received from the [ANALOG IN]
XLR connector, adjust the [TRIM] control so that the corresponding [MIC PEAK] indicator
does not light.

Level meters
Displays recording or playback levels.

Recording level controls
Adjust recording levels (L and R) of external microphone or line input sources.
These controls are not effective for the internal microphone.

[REC] (Record) key
Pressing this key starts recording.
Each time you press this key, a new audio file is created.
When the PRE REC mode is set to "ON", the previous data stored in the buffer (two seconds)
is also recorded.

[REC STBY] (Record Standby) key
Before recording, pressing this key makes the unit record-standby and input monitor.
Pressing this key again releases input monitor.
During recording, pressing this key stops recording (you can also stop recording using the
[STOP/CANCEL] key).

[MONITOR] control
Adjusts the output level of [PHONES] and [MONITOR OUT] connectors, as well as the
monitor level of the internal monitor speaker.
Do not monitor the sound for a long period of time at a high volume level, since this can
cause permanent hearing.
