Clearing CMOS and Password Settings

CAUTION:
Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions located in
"Safety, Environmental, and Ergonomic Instructions" on page 48.
1 Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 37.
2 Reset the current CMOS settings:
Locate the 2-pin CMOS jumper (J16) on the system board (see "Jumper Location" on page 60).

Remove the jumper plug from the "Normal" position.

Place the jumper plug in the "Reset CMOS" position and wait approximately five seconds.

Replace the jumper plug in the "Normal" position.

3 Replace the computer cover (see "Replacing the Computer Cover" on page 47).
NOTICE:
To connect a network cable, first plug the cable into the network port or device, and then plug it into the
computer.
4 Connect your computer and devices to electrical outlets, and then turn them on.
