13 Perform the Printer Network Information Settings

When the printer is used on a network with TCP/IP protocol, you must
perform the network information settings such as the IP address, subnet
mask, and so on.
Important
In order to perform the network settings, a network interface board must be
installed in the printer. The optional Network Interface Board NB-11FB must be
installed in the standard model of this printer before the printer can be connected to
a network. (

Network Information Setting Methods

The methods described below can be used to perform the network settings.
Use the method that is appropriate for the computer and network in use.
Printer Operation Panel
Use the operation panel buttons on the printer to perform the network
information settings with the Setup Menu.
Network Setup Utility
Use utility software to perform the TCP/IP, NetBIOS, or NetWare
information settings for the printer network interface board. This utility
software is on the provided software CD-ROM.
First, check the MAC address with the Ext. I/F print from the printer, select
and execute the Install NetSpot item from the Setup Menu of the software
CD-ROM, then after its installation use NetSpot to perform the settings. (

ARP/PING Command
On the DOS command line, or from the console screen, execute the arp
command to perform the settings. First, check the MAC address with the
Ext. I/F print from the printer, then set the IP address and the MAC address.
